News From The Kangaroos Class
Hello from the Kangaroo Classroom! The Kangaroos have been very busy this fall! The entire class has made an amazing transition into their new classroom. They have gotten used to our daily schedule, have been establishing and strengthening friendships, and talking up a storm! We started the year with An All About Me Unit to transition back into the school setting. We then moved into a unit about colors and shapes. This past month we have been learning all about Fall and Halloween. We took a class field trip to the Pumpkin Patch where we got to pick out pumpkins to bring back to school and decorate! During this unit the Kangaroos counted how many leaves tall each classmate is, painted leaves on trees with q-tips and collected fall items on nature walks.
Next month we will be starting a unit on numbers and letters. The Kangaroos have already been counting friends during circle time and loving our Zoophonics song about the alphabet. We will start to recognize and match letters and numerals and introduce the sounds letters make!
